The Welsh Wrecking Machine was back in style this weekend!

Barrie Jones knocks down Gregoris Cisneros.

Wow. On Saturday February 1st Barrie Jones let the bare knuckle world know he is still one of the best fighters on the planet. In just 17 seconds, Jones sent the former BYB Light Heavyweight Champion Gregoris Cisneros crashing to the canvas clutching his face, and giving zero indication of getting back up.

It was a solid right hook from the Welsh Wrecking Machine, reportedly breaking the nose and ending the contest early. I’m not going to lie, I was disappointed with the result, not that I was cheering for one guy over the other but this had the makings of an all time clash. Especially when you factor their last performances, with Cisneros winning the belt in a slobber-knocker against Cub Hawkins, and Jones nearly taking down the top BYB fighter on the roster LT Nelson in an instant classic.

But however the bare knuckle gods had other plans, and Jones reasserts himself into any fight he wants, but with the world at his fingertips, there’s only one he wants.

He stated very publicly that he only returned to bare knuckle in the first place to fight at home in Wales. But after what he considered a “bad performance”, which resulted in his first career loss in bare knuckle, he opted to stay in the mix and take this bout up seven pounds at light heavyweight. Now with a championship around his waist that could be enough to coax Nelson into coming up to 175.

Given how the first contest went between the two, fans should be lined up around the building for when they finally do it again. And I say with confidence that it will happen because it’s clear that is the only fight keeping Jones out of retirement.

While LT has business to take care of with James Connelly next month, even if he is unsuccessful, there is a big possibility that Nelson slides right into a title shot with Jones.

When a legend like Jones makes it abundantly clear that he only wants one man, and a fight with that one man is the only thing keeping him in the bare knuckle game, you move heaven and earth to make that happen. Regardless of if it's next, or a year from now, I don’t care and neither should you. Barrie Jones is BACK!
