On March 29th, BKFC returned to the desert, as they held BKFC 59 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Headlined by Albuquerque’s own, John Dodson (3-0-1, 3 KO’s), defending his flyweight championship, this show saw a great mix of both new and established talent and built upon what has been an excellent 2024 for the company.

On the preliminary card, hometown fighter, Felipe Chavez (2-0, 2 KO’s), scored a knockdown just seven seconds into his bout against Leandro Torres (1-1, 1 KO), before sending him to the mat for good less than a minute into the first round. Justin Street (1-0) and Marc Entenberg (1-0, 1 KO) both won by decision to open the main card before Ruben Warr (1-0, 1 KO) disposed of Lorenzo Coca (0-1) in the first round of their match.

In the co-main event, Donald Sanchez (3-1, 2 KO’s) relentlessly worked Dallas Davidson’s (2-3, 2 KO’s) body in the third round to get his second consecutive victory by stoppage. The real headline came after the fight though, as Sanchez took the opportunity to call out current BKFC World Middleweight Champion, David Mundell, planting the seeds for a title bout in the future.

The main event saw the aforementioned Dodson defend his flyweight championship against Dagoberto Aguero (1-0-1, 1 KO). The champ was in control early, dropping the challenger in the first round, but Aguero responded with knockdowns of his own in the next two rounds to send this one to the cards. Ultimately the fight would be scored a draw, putting a rather anticlimactic end to what was a very entertaining event. If you want to see the results from every fight, take a look down below.
