BKFC 64 & BYB 29 PREDICTIONS

Two events in one day means double the fun for BK Nation!

Hawkins vs Cisneros poster

Two of bare knuckles biggest and baddest promotions are in action this Saturday August 10th, in the form of BYB 29 and BKFC 64.

BYB is in Pembroke Pines Florida, USA while BKFC heads across the pond to Coventry, England. For our North American audience BKFC will go first starting at 3pm. So we’ll cover that one first before BYB takes the primetime spot in the evening.

Here are BK Nation's BKFC & BYB Predictions.

Connor Tierney (8-2, 3 KO’s) vs. Jonny Graham (2-0, 2 KO’s) - Vacant UK Welterweight Title Fight

A six fight win streak spanning two promotions had Connor Tierney just one fight away from a shot at the BKFC Welterweight title. Although he did come up short to Jake Lindsey in that bout, the opportunity to claim a UK Title in a division that isn’t exactly bustling with contenders, should be motivator enough to kickstart another run to the world title.

On the other side Graham only has two fights in bare knuckle, winning both, but in his lone BKFC bout, showed great promise. So much so that he is going from the prelims all the way to the main event of BKFC 64. Not wanting to squander his opportunity, he will look to make a statement against the heavily favoured Tierney. Great head movement and good footwork, with enough power to put guys away could rain all over the Tierney Parade.

Dawid Oskar (3-1, 2 KO’s) vs. Rob Boardman (5-0, 4 KO’s) - Co-Main Event

Two big boys who can crack, just take a look at the KO ratios. Oksar is ranked #5 at heavyweight but this one takes place at cruiserweight, so there’s a possibility that the power coming down will be too much for Boardman. The Englishman will have to trust his chin and rely on his accuracy to wear on the bigger Oskar. A fun co-main for as long as it lasts should see the fans on their feet and someone on the canvas.

(C) Cub Hawkins (5-0, 5 KO’s) vs. Gregoris Cisneros (2-1, 2 KO’s) - BYB Light Heavyweight Championship

Cub Hawkins has quickly and quietly become one of the best bare knuckles in the game; BK Nation has him slated as the #8 pound for pound fighter today. Light on his feet and obvious power to boot, Hawkins has potential to climb that list. Cisneros had an absolute wild fight earlier this year against Rene Rodriguez, getting knocked down early before closing the show before the end of the first round. So while Cub has the power to knock people down, Cisneros has shown he won’t go away. Strength of schedule certainly favours Hawkins especially after his dominant win over Ryan Jett, but schedule doesn’t always matter in bare knuckle, where any given fighter can win on any given night.

Uly Diaz vs. Szymon Szynkiewicz - Co-Main Event

The end of an era in bare knuckle. Once one of the most marquee fighters in the entire sport, Uly Diaz has announced that this fight will be his last, deciding to hang up the gloves…er… knuckles? Yeah, knuckles, after this fight. But in a landscape like combat sports, fighters usually aren’t given a glorious send-off and his opponent Szynkiewicz will be looking for a statement victory to make a name for himself. While Szynkiewicz has been on a losing skid as of late dropping his last four, before that he won three in a row. Diaz came up short last time around against Zion Tomlinson Sr. getting stopped in the second round.

Robert Duran Jr. vs. Serob Minasyan

One of BYB’s brightest new contenders Robert Duran Jr. makes his second appearance in BYB’s antepenultimate bout of the evening. Winning by KO his first time out in a very competitive fight, he now has a taste of just how brutal this game is. Minasyan also has one fight in bare knuckle but came out on the losing side of his bout with Rome Lindsay. But he has taken nearly seven months away from the sport and could be looking at this fight as a do-over for his debut. Taking out Duran near the top of the card, would send a message around all of BYB that he is for real.
