“As soon as the lights went up at our last sold-out event at Hard Rock Live on June 21, fans wanted to know how soon we’d be back,” said David Feldman, Founder and President of BKFC. “This will be our ninth show at Hard Rock Live and it truly is an unbeatable venue for BKFC. Every event we promote there is bigger than the last and this one will be no exception.”
“Alberto Blas has truly blazed a trail in the bantamweight division with five first round knockouts and his stoppage over Keith Richardson on June 21 to win the world title was an exciting show-stopper in front of his legion of Cuban supporters in attendance. However, Ryan Reber is also undefeated, has beaten numerous top fighters to truly earn his opportunity and is very confident that the world title goes home with him on September 13”
“David Mundell has been a true wrecking machine since his BKFC debut five years ago and is one of our most popular fighters, especially in South Florida. He wanted a new challenge and moving up to light heavyweight and fighting a living legend like ‘King Mo’ absolutely fits the bill.”
Bursting onto the bare-knuckle scene on December 3, 2022, Alberto Blas knocked out veteran Jeremiah Potts in the first round at BKFC-34. Utilizing his heavy hands, he has thrilled South Florida fans with first round stoppages of Robert Armas (BKFC-45), Joao Guerro (BKFC-49) and Daniel Alvarez (BKFC-57) in addition to the knockout of Keith Richardson at BKFC-62.
Ryan Reber heads into his first world title challenge coming off a dominant unanimous decision over Anthony Foye at BKFC-61. He also holds knockout victories over Derek Perez (BKFC-57), Jack Grady (BKFC-32), Rick Caruso (BKFC Fight Night Tampa 2) and Micah Mitchell (BKFC-25). Additionally, he was victorious in a remarkable ‘six round’ decision over Travis Thompson at BKFC-47 in one of the best fights of 2023.
Ranked #2 Pound-for-Pound in BKFC, David Mundell won the Middleweight World Title with a third-round knockout of Francesco Ricchi at BKFC-34 on December 3, 2022. He has made two successful defenses with second round knockouts of Mike Richman (BKFC-47) and Doug Coltrane (BKFC-53). Additional captivating wins under the BKFC banner came against David Simpson (BKFC Fight Night Tampa 2), Julian Lane (BKFC-25), Stanislav Grosu (BKFC Fight Night Tampa), Ronnie Forney (BKFC-8) and Drew Lipton (BKFC-6).
Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal is a former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion and a former RIZIN Heavyweight Grand Prix Champion compiling a record of 23-10 (7 KOs), over his 11 years as a professional MMA fighter. Among the victories on his historic ledger include ‘Rampage’ Jackson, Jiri Prochazka, Dustin Jacoby and Roger Gracie. The former national wrestling champion at Oklahoma State University has also competed in Major League Wrestling.
