BKFC FIGHT NIGHT: KANSAS CITY PREVIEW

BKFC continues its August hot streak with another card stacked with exciting bouts!

BKFC Fight Night: Kansas City official poster.

On August 16th second ranked welterweight Jake Lindsey (4-1, 4 KO’s) will face fourth ranked Elvin Brito (6-4, 2 KO’s) in the main event of BKFC Fight Night: Kansas City. This will be the first appearance from Lindsey after an unsuccessful bid for the welterweight title nearly a full calendar year ago. Heading into that fight, he was 4-0 with four wins by stoppage, including a fourth round TKO of current UK Welterweight champion Connor Tierney

Elvin Brito has climbed to the top of the welterweight division once before, becoming the inaugural champion before ultimately dropping the title to Luis Palomino. After a follow up loss to Carlos Trinidad-Snake the former champ took nearly a year away from the sport before making his return to the squared circle against Ja’Far Fortt. Brito showed he was back in good form when he bested Fortt in just 40 seconds after throwing what looked like 30 unanswered shots.

While Trout has some business to take care of with Rico Franco in October, and Carlos Trinidad-Snake is likely next in line, a great performance from either guy could see them skip the line. Especially given CTS’ activity as of late fighting just twice since November of 2022, this fight has serious implications.

A fight that is flying under the radar is this event's co-main, when Zeb Vincent (2-1, 2 KO’s) will face Doug Coltrane (3-1, 2 KO’s). Coltrane, a former title challenger, got everyone’s attention last year with his stunning knockout of Blake Lacaze, a KO that earned him his shot at David Mundell. With the list of contenders at middleweight Coltrane can’t be far from a title shot should he beat Vincent on Saturday.

Vincent, lost his first bare knuckle contest to Keegan Vandermeer but has since picked up two wins by stoppage. A long-range sniper Vincent holds a 76-inch reach and uses all of it, sticking a jab to the body and keeping on the pressure wearing his opponents down.

A very interesting and volatile main and co-main that could go anyway and unlock all types of interesting matches further down the road, makes this weekend’s event can’t miss!
