BKFC HEADS TO CANADA FOR ROUND TWO!

It’s fight week up north, let's take a closer look!

On March 2nd 2024, BKFC set up shop in the country of Canada for the first time. In the inaugural Canadian event, Quebec product Jade Masson-Wong scored a 60-second knockout of Gabrille Roman, punching her ticket to a world title opportunity against Christine Ferea on September 6th. But just days before we see that bout unfold, BKFC and Canada will team up again in Edmonton Alberta, Canada for another prospect series card!

While there are no top rated contenders on the edge of a world title opportunity this time around, that doesn't mean we aren’t still in for a great night of action. Need proof? Look no further than our main event, Sonny Smith vs Drew Stuve.

Smith is coming off a defeat in his BKFC debut at the hands of the experienced Jeremiah Riggs, but before that Smith started his career with back-to-back victories in BKB including a win over former world champion Aaron McCallum, proving his world class capabilities.

Stuve on the other hand, has seen his arm raised in his only BKFC appearance, debuting on March’s Edmonton show with a first round TKO.

In the co-main event Hassan Al-Ghanim will look to one up his Knockout of the Year candidate he achieved during BKFC’s initial trip to Canada back in March. A second round combination from the prospect sent Dustin Shtybel’s head bouncing off the canvas in devastating fashion. But he draws into tough cookie Ryan Ibsen who took it to Dakota Highpine across two rounds eventually earning him a KO victory back in June of 2023. Two heavy hitters for the chance to go 2-0 makes this a can’t miss co-main!

Also featured are lightweights Chad Lucanas and Zach Pannell both searching for their second win in the squared circle.

After starting his career 2-0, Jonathan Miller will seek to bounce back from his loss to Sawyer Depee when he makes his long-awaited return against Polish scrapper Bohdan Kotok.

A slew of debutants fill out the rest of the card and based on last time in Edmonton with the likes of Al-Ghanim and Stuve among them they are sure to put on a show in front of the rabid Canadian fans.

To put a bow on it, BKFC President and Founder David Feldman had this to say about the company's return to Canada.

“Canadian BKFC fans are quickly establishing themselves as some of the most passionate supporters of bare knuckle fighting on the planet, and our Canadian fighters are quickly establishing themselves as some of the top prospects in the sport. We couldn’t be happier to be back in Canada with another can’t-miss event in Edmonton.”
