Two regional titles top a very underrated card to kick off November.
On Saturday November 2nd, BKFC heads back overseas to Newcastle, England where a championship double header will close the show but not before some of the region's talent gets shown off.
In the main event Anthony “Agi” Faulkner (2-0, 2 KO) makes his return to face Dawid Oscar (3-1, 2 KO) for the European Heavyweight Title. Faulkner was last seen in the squared circle in November of last year when he bested Rob Cunningham in just 57 seconds. But before you say ring rust may be in effect, that performance was after another year long lay-off where again he scored a first round knockout. Short, sweet and to the point, Faulkner shows up and takes care of business.
But standing opposite him is some tough business to take care of, in the form of the Polish bare knuckler Oscar. At the tail end of last year he would suffer his lone defeat in bare knuckle only to bounce back with a stoppage victory in his appearance at BKFC 60 back in April. A heavyweight main event title fight with two guys who can crack, what else could you ask for?
In the co-main, a UK Light Heavyweight Title is up for grabs when Matt Hodgson (4-2 4 KO) knuckles up against Conor Cooke (3-1 3 KO). Hodgson had a rough start to his bare knuckle career, dropping two straight, only to bounce back with four straight stoppage victories! And now he has a chance to win a UK title and throw his name in the hat for the world title! But it won’t come easy with “Da Crook” Cooke standing in his way. Like Hodgson, Cooke has finished all of his wins in bare knuckle. His lone loss came at the hands of Dawid Oscar 20 pounds heavier than where this fight is set to take place. However this is Cooke’s first trip back to 185-lbs. since November of last year, and with the fights at 205 since then we’ll see if the weight cut has any factor in this fight.
In the antepenultimate bout, Lewis Keen (3-0 2 KO) and Ben Bonner (2-1, 2 KO) will enter a dust up at lightweight. A win for either guy could be the next one to compete for the new vacant UK Lightweight title.
Also making an appearance is Karl Thompson (2-0, 1 KO) the lone man to defeat Dawid Oscar in bare knuckle, and funny enough he is facing off with another Dawid, Chylinski, this time. Chylinski has just one bare knuckle fight that I could find on record and it ended in a No-Contest. He’s looking to make a clean start with a big win over Thompson in his BKFC debut.
Four different nations will be represented, England, Northern Ireland, Poland, and South Africa across the 12 slated fights, in what is set to be another great instalment of BKFC action in the UK. Those fans always bring it and so do the fighters, so don’t miss November 2nd's action!
