Here’s all that happened at Canada’s first BKFC show.
BKFC went north and held its first event in Canada, on March 2nd with a Prospect Fight Night in Edmonton Alberta. This was an action-packed event, as every single fight ended with a stoppage. Pita Tuiloma (1-0, 1 KO), Matt Socholotiuk (1-0, 1 KO), and Robert Deharnais (1-0, 1 KO) all looked good as they picked up wins in Canadian vs Canadian bouts to open the night. The first American of the evening, Donnie Tice Jr (1-1, 1 KO), didn’t fare too well, getting knocked down three times by Canuck Tyler Tremblett (1-0, 1 KO) as the Canadians improved to 4-0 on the night.
Hasan Alghanim's (1-0, 1 KO) BKFC career got off to a good start, scoring a thunderous knockout that sent Dalton Shtybel (0-1) plummeting to the mat. In the penultimate match, Jeremiah Riggs (2-2, 2 KO’s) clobbered Sonny Smith (2-1), ending things after just 49 seconds.
Finally, the main event saw Canadian Jade Masson-Wong (3-1, 2 KO’s) stand opposite American Gabrielle Roman (1-1-1, 1 KO). They didn't stand around for long though, as Masson-Wong landed a big right hand that had Roman stumbling, and after two knockdowns in less than 60 seconds, it was all over. Now ranked as the number one contender in women’s flyweight, and with her only loss coming over two years ago, the heavy-handed Canadian has positioned herself perfectly to take on the winner of Christine Ferea and Heather Hardy. For all the other fights from Edmonton, we’ve got the full results down below.
