ABOUT LT NELSON

Lorawnt-T (LT) “Smash” Nelson is one of the most experienced multi-disciplined fighters in the world, having fought bare knuckle, kickboxing, boxing, MMA, Muay Thai, and lethwei. He won the BYB Super Middleweight title this past December in Denver against Robert Serna. His only loss came by decision in a title match against Sam Liera in what was the 2022 Bare Knuckle Boxing Hall of Fame fight of the year.  His victories and draw have come against four international bare knuckle champions.

“Fighting is what I do; it’s not really a choice. It is what I am. I’ve earned BYB gold by beating the best in the world anytime they’ve been put across the Trigon from me. Tommy certainly fits the bill, and we are going to make fireworks together. I can’t wait to put on a show with him, but when it’s all said and done, I’ll be the first two-division champ in BYB history, and looking to collect more belts.”

ABOUT TOMMY TURNER

Tommy “The Samurai” Turner of Payette, Idaho by way of Ontario, OR is one of the strongest and most experienced boxers on the BYB roster, and has ascended up the ranks of bare knuckle as quickly as anyone in the sport.  After an eye-opening first round TKO in his debut against Henry Williams (4-2) last February, Turner earned a Police Gazette World Diamond Belt title match against arguably the best pound-for-pound bare knuckle fighter alive, Barrie Jones. Despite the loss, Turner walked away knowing he can go toe-to-toe with the best in the world.

“I have as much respect for LT as I do anyone in this sport. We’ve fought on two cards together, and am glad we’ve had the chance to become close,” said Turner.  “But sometimes, two guys who are buddies have to say f*** it and beat the shit out each other for a title, hence, Nelson vs. Turner.  A year ago, I fully committed to this sport, and this is what I’ve been working towards.  On May 10, I won’t leave Denver without having my hand raised as BYB Middleweight champion.”

ABOUT BYB

Originating in South Florida with backyard legend Dada 5000, whose backyard fights gained worldwide popularity online, BYB was founded to harness the excitement of bare knuckle into a more structured product for a wider, more mainstream audience. Since 2015, BYB has worked diligently to grow the reach of bare knuckle on both a domestic and international level, hosting events in Wyoming, Mississippi, Florida, South Carolina, Colorado, London, and Dubai, and is continuing to work with athletic commissions throughout the United States globally to expand the fanbase growing sport of bare knuckle.
