A lightweight title shot is on the line between two heavy-hitters.
In the main event of BYB Extreme 27 on June 14th, Featherweight champion Harold “Lightning” McQueen (3-1, 3 KO’s) will go up to 135 to face Jon “Untameable” Barnard (3-0, 3 KO’s) in a lightweight title eliminator. McQueen has already made one appearance this year winning his featherweight title in emphatic fashion avenging his loss to Brandon Birr with a third round TKO. Barnard carries a wealth of combat experience, fighting in kickboxing and MMA he has quickly collected two KO’s of his own since joining the bare knuckle fold. It’s two experienced scrappers ready to put it all on the line inside the Trigon for a shot at Julio Tanori (3-0, 2 KO’s) and lightweight gold.
Cole Whiston: McQueen KO
He's taller, more active, has tasted defeat, and avenged the loss in emphatic fashion. Yes the move up could be his kryptonite but McQueen has fought at 135 against Sitarchuk and stopped him in the first round. He gets it done against Barnard inside the distance.
Jag Kang: McQueen KO
I gotta go with Harold "Lightning" McQueen here. Although he's the one moving up, I believe size will play a factor in his advantage. He's two inches taller which I believe will aid him as long as he stays on the outside. He's also finished all of his opponents which leads me to believe it'll be a fourth stoppage for McQueen.
Corey Erdman: McQueen KO
I expect this to be a battle of two gunslingers with lights out power. There’s no wrong direction to lean here, it’s a fantastic matchup, but I’ll give the edge to McQueen based on his experience inside the triangular ring and comfort in close quarters. McQueen by KO.
Adam Hunt: Barnard KO
Looks like I’m alone on this one, but inside the Trigon and with hands as fast as these two have, anything can happen. Barnard is a lightweight, it's where he feels his best, and knows what the power feels like. McQueen has been to 135 before, but the power might not translate as well on someone at the level of Barnard. I think regardless of who comes out on top this one will be over quick, but with power that has consistently put guys away at 135, I'm going with Barnard.
