BYB 30 & BKFC FN: KANSAS CITY PREDICTIONS

Another weekend double header, means another batch of BK Nation predictions!

LT Nelson in his element.

August has been a bare knuckle fan's dream, with three events already under our belt, and two more this weekend! If there’s one thing you can gather from these articles, it’s that bare knuckle is always hard to predict and it's full of surprises. This weekend is no different with four contenders squaring off at BKFC Fight Night: Kansas City and two established champions locking horns at BYB 30! Let's get into our BYB & BKFC predictions!

Jake Lindsey (4-1, 4 KO’s) vs. Elvin Brito (6-4, 2 KO’s)

Two welterweight contenders who very well could be one win away from being the next title challenger at 165, Lindsey and Brito enter a main event dripping in championship implications.

Lindsey started his bare knuckle tenure with four straight stoppage victories before ultimately coming up short against Gorjan Slaveski for the vacant welterweight title. He has not fought since then, but given the departure of Slaveski and the arrival of new champion Trout we should see a rejuvenated and re-energized Lindsey who now knows what it takes to be a champion.

Brito also knows what it takes to be a world champion because he was this division’s first! He has not been able to get back to that point but after making a splash in his return to action earlier this year, a 40-second stoppage of Ja’Far Fortt, he seems to have a refreshed approach to this run. Taking out the number two welterweight in the world would fast track him back to a title shot.

Doug Coltrane (3-1, 2 KO’s) vs. Zeb Vincent (2-1, 2 KO’s)

Two long range snipers fill our co-main event. Coltrane had a Knockout of the Year candidate in early 2023 over Blake Lacaze that earned him a shot at the middleweight title. While he did lose that bout at the hands of established champion David Mundell, he remains as one of the best at 175-lbs.

Vincent dropped his first contest in bare knuckle but has back to back stoppages to follow that up. Long arms give him a reach advantage over nearly everyone, taking a high volume approach with an emphasis on pressure and distance management. Both guys have shown the ability to finish fights and this co main event will likely be no different.

Barrie Jones (10-0, 9 KO’s) vs. LT Nelson (5-1-1, 5 KO’s)

As far as the sport of bare knuckle goes, this is as good as it gets. Two pound for pound talents, Two, two-division, champions battle it out in the Mighty Trigon. Jones, who most consider the best bare knuckler of the modern era, has remained untouched and undefeated through all 10 of his bare knuckle battles that includes two stoppage victories over Jimmy Sweeney (the only other man who could make the claim of best of the era). Fast hands, sweet combinations and an advanced understanding of bare knuckle fighting has cut through all adversaries like a hot knife through butter.

But across the trigon stands a man who will not bend, break, or wilt for as long as the bout goes. For LT Nelson, a combined 50 fights across just about every form of combat sport imaginable, has formed a fighting juggernaut that has a knack for finding a finish. All of his bare knuckle wins have come by stoppage which includes a win over Rico Franco, plus knockouts over Robert Serna and Tommy Turner, resulting in world titles in two different divisions.

No matter what side you're rooting for, bare knuckle fans win with this one. What. A. Fight.
