A date has been scheduled but no main event has been made.
It's been nearly seven months since we’ve seen BKFC womens GOAT Christine Ferea, but I have a hunch that the end is near.
Ferea was originally supposed to face former boxing world champion Heather Hardy for the inaugural “Queen of Violence” title at BKFC 61 in May, but that bout was scrapped when Hardy was forced to retire due to medical problems.
Rather than find a replacement on short notice for the bout, BKFC's Flyweight Champion, Ferea has been on ice ever since. Enter number one contender Jade Masson-Wong. Ferea and Masson-Wong were active on socials calling for a fight with each other including in interaction on Bare Knuckle Nations instagram in response to us posting about this possibility of a fight months ago.
Then a few weeks later, BKFC stirred the pot itself by posting this photo.

Jade got this interaction started as well commenting,
“Christine Ferea and me!!!! Goooo 🔥🔥🔥👊👊👊”
Only for Ferea to follow up with
“Your wish is my command 😈”
Once again both of them are extremely receptive to fighting the other. But lately things have been eerily quiet. Almost too quiet. Meaning that both parties could be acting extra careful as to not spill the beans of a possible fight date.
BKFC 65 is set for September 9th, in Salt Lake City. Last time BKFC was in Utah it was a massive event with Mike Perry headlining, meaning that BKFC will likely look to follow up with another major main event. Chrsitine Ferea fits that bill, the most accomplished womens BKFC fighter ever, and arguably the best bare knuckler of all time full stop.
Jade Masson-Wong is the only viable contender for Fereas belt, and with this massive opening in September at a numbered event, I think we are just days away from a possible announcement from David Feldman and Co.
Ferea has an offensive skill set that is matched by very few in the game today, however Masson-Wong is extremely talented and could be the first one since 2019 to defeat Ferea. While bouts that feature Ferea usually feel like a foregone conclusion, this bout with Masson-Wong at least on paper would be one of, if not the, toughest fight of her career. And against a tough adversary we could see the best version of both fighters and see one of the best fights in the history of BKFC. All we’re waiting for is an announcement!
