Former undisputed boxing world champion Seniesa Estrada suggests she wants to fight former foe in BKFC.
I was scrolling through Instagram today and I stumbled on Seniesa Estrada, a former undisputed boxing world champion, calling for a fight in BKFC against a former rival of hers Marlen Esparza.
For the bare knuckle fans that are unfamiliar with this rivalry, they had a very heated lead up to their fight in 2019. Just watch the weigh in.
After that, Estrada went on to turn her career into a first ballot Hall of Fame resume, eventually retiring from boxing in 2024 as the undisputed strawweight champion with a record of 26-0, and 9 knockouts. The best part, in this case, she did so at the age of 32.
She also has a very entertaining style as she constantly switches stances, has a balanced attack, and is more than willing to sit and trade in the centre of the ring. Just watch this feature from our friends at Boxing World.
The Esparza rematch was one of the top matchups she left behind… or so we thought. If these two can run in back in bare knuckle, that would be one of the biggest fights in the sport.
It is surprising that just months after announcing her retirement from boxing that she is entertaining a bare knuckle fight and who knows how serious she is about it? But she has been at some BKFC events in the past so this isn’t completely out of the blue.
It’s no secret bare knuckle needs more elite female talent and it doesn’t really get any more elite than Seniesa Estrada.
