A bare knuckle veteran takes on an up and comer in a main event.
On December 11th, it was announced that BKFC would be returning to the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut on February 1st, 2025. Slotted to fill the main event is bare knuckle veteran Julian Lane (7-8, 2 KO) who will face up-and-comer Cameron VanCamp (2-1, 1 KO).
The match will be the fourth time in Lane’s career that he will be in the main event, but his first since October of 2021. The bump to the main event is on the heels of three straight wins, including his most recent outing against former boxing world champion Alfredo Angulo. Before this run, Lane’s career was very up and down in terms of results, but his resume is populated with some of the very best in the bare knuckle game, including Mike Perry, Jimmy Sweeney, and David Mundell. Lane seems to have finally got himself fighting the right way, with his three wins in a row also coming with his first two stoppages.
VanCamp has also found himself on an upswing career wise, scoring an emphatic knockout of Micah Terrill and a split decision win over Brandon Girtz in his most recent outings. His performances have caught the eye of not just the fans; in a quote provided by BKFC, Founder and President David Feldman is quoted to say, “We’ve been very impressed with Cameron Vancamp and look forward to an all-action headlining battle between these two bare knuckle warriors.”
While we don’t know much else about the event with the undercard being announced at a later date, we were left with one final nugget: Former MMA fighter “Irish” Brennan Ward (MMA Record: 13-9) will make his long-awaited BKFC debut. Ward fought in both Bellator and the PFL throughout his pro tenure, primarily fighting at 170-lbs at the end of his career before now making the switch to bare knuckle.
