KAI STEWART VS…?

A date and one half of the main event is official, but there's still one key piece missing.

Kai Stewart poses is BKFC President David Feldman following his win at BKFC 62.

BKFC Featherweight Champion Kai Stewart is set to defend his title on November 9th in his home state of Montana. There’s just one problem, the date is 36 days away from the time this article is written (Oct 4th), there is no official opponent.

Confusing? I know. Luckily you came to the right place, Bare Knuckle Nation decided to go right to the source and get the low down from champion Stewart himself!

When asked about the potential opponent on November 9th Stewart answered with:

“I have a couple ideas, obviously Jimmie Rivera stepped into the ring after my fight and tried to take that moment from me. There's a little bit I need to do there. I need to knock him out on my home turf and get that back. He stole half my mic time down in Florida (BKFC 62) so I definitely want to get that one back."

"He has so much experience and that gets me going for all my practices, he gives me something no other featherweight can give me. He’s going to pressure me, everyone thinks they can knock me out when I’m coming in, we saw how that worked out with Howard Davis and Bryan Duran."

"Next up to my knowledge he’s already signed to fight on the card so he’s out, is Brandon Allen. I’ve heard that name, but the only reason he’s number one is because I've beaten everyone ahead of him in the rankings. I’ve got to see a top five matchup and to my knowledge he’s not fighting a Top 5 matchup. Everyone says you're ducking him, no I'm doing fights that make me the most money, and Brandon Allen is not that guy. That’ll be the easiest payday for me."

There’s also rumours that they going to pull something and I don’t even know a name but they said that it could be “a big fight" So Jimmie Rivera Brandon Allen or a big fight.”

While in the rest of the conversation which will be coming to our youtube very soon, Stewart didn’t disclose who he has been in talks to fight, but after going on the road for back to back title defenses, the champ has his sights set on one guy to face in his home state of Montana come November.

“I’m hoping Jimmie the cop…lil Jim, lil slim Jim even though he’s pretty top heavy from eating all those donuts. I think it's the fight that excites me the most, it gets me out of bed and the fans in Montana love it. I’m actually selling tables because people don’t like how I’m taking this whole “stoner kid" attitude which is great, love me or hate me, y’all are still buying tickets. I can sell the Jimmie Rivera fight, so that’s what we’re hoping for.”

While there is still no official opponent, the champion's mindset is the same as always no matter who is in front of him.

“November 9th, as usual we’re going to have violence, speed, and momentum we’re going to go out there and try to put this guys lights out no matter what we’re going to walk away as winners win, lose or draw, we’re winners because of how hard we work. I brought BKFC (back) to Montana which is a win in itself, I hope I put on a fantastic show and no matter what happens that night we are going to party like no other because we deserve it.”

The final quote I’ll leave you with is when talking about how his training is going he said,

“I’m smiling and whenever I’m smiling I’m the most dangerous.”
