Fans and media members alike were disappointed at the postponement of LT Nelson vs James Connelly which was originally scheduled for January 11th. But due to a whole bunch of reasons, which you can read about here, fans would need to wait a little bit longer. However, fans now have an end in sight for this saga, March 22nd in Wolverhampton England.
The bout is set to be six three minute rounds for the BYB Super Middleweight title. This bout is a rematch of their all-time tilt back in 2023, which ended in a draw, full breakdown of their first meeting here. Expectations were high for the rematch and will now be turned up a notch with the drama surrounding the postponement.
The buildup has picked up right where it left off, with both guys trading barbs on Instagram. When these two finally get in there for the second time, fans are in for another all-time clash.

BYB Bare Knuckle Returns to Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England March 22, Headlined by the Long-Awaited Contentious Rematch for the BYB Super Middleweight Championship between LT Nelson and James Connelly at BYB 38 Wolves Brawl II
Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England - BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting Series announced today its return to West Midlands, UK when Wolverhampton hosts BYB 38 Wolves Brawl II at the Hangar on March 22.
The card will be headlined by the long-awaited rematch between two of the most accomplished bare knuckle fighters on the planet, when BYB two-division champion LT “Smash” Nelson defends his BYB Super Middleweight Police Gazette Diamond Belt against Birmingham, England’s James “The Truth” Connelly.
The fight is a rematch of their BYB 19 championship fight that ended in a draw and went on to be named the 2023 Bare Knuckle Hall of Fame Police Gazette Fight of the Year. The duo was scheduled to face off in the BYB 35 main event January 11 in Albuquerque, but just prior to that fight, the New Mexico Athletic Commission informed BYB that they have not yet adopted the Association of Boxing Commission’s Unified Rules of Bare Knuckle, and as such, would not approve a six-round fight (as all BYB men’s championship fights are contracted for). When fighters were unable to agree on new terms, the fight was postponed, and tempers flared with both accusing the other of ducking. With six rounds, three minutes and sixty degrees of mayhem in the Mighty Trigon slated for Wolverhampton, there is zero room for excuses and nowhere to run.
Also scheduled for the card (subject to change):
Ryan Meer v Nathan Massey
David Winiarski v Simey Doherty
Dean Patterson v Patrick Nash
Aaron McCallum v Mark Tiffin
Jordan Ward v Callan Harley
Matty Moore v Gavin Curragh
