With BKFC’s fourth annual mega-event just around the corner, here’s everything you need to know about one of Bare Knuckles's biggest shows.
The biggest event BKFC has to offer is set to take place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, California on April 27th. KnuckleMania 4 is shaping up to be one of the best shows of the year, and possibly in company history. While we only have three confirmed matchups to this point, the makings of a great card are already there, with some of the biggest names in Bare Knuckle set to appear.
The event will be headlined by a matchup between stars in Mike Perry and Thiago Alves. Since joining the promotion in 2022, “Platinum” Perry has turned himself into its biggest headliner and is currently undefeated at 4-0, highlighted by a second-round stoppage of Eddie Alvarez in his most recent match. Alves, who's making his return to the company, originally joined BKFC in 2020, and became its inaugural middleweight champion in just his second bout, but was stripped of the title less than a year later when his contract expired. The two were set to face off under the UFC banner in 2017, but Alves would back out for undisclosed reasons, making this their first meeting in any sport. These fighters have been on a collision course for seven years now and should provide all the star power and skill needed to create an instant classic come April.
In the co-main event, BKFC’s top-ranked pound-for-pound fighter, Lorenzo Hunt, will vacate his cruiserweight and light heavyweight belts to get a shot at Mick Terrill’s Heavyweight Title. “The Juggernaut” Hunt is on a quest to become the first three-division champion in BKFC history, while Terril is looking to prove himself against the company’s top competitor. Despite both men being in their early 40s, they still have plenty of juice and have performed very well in the top divisions of Bare Knuckle, posting a combined record of 18-2, with 16 of those wins coming by way of knockout.
The final scheduled bout could be for a shot at the BKFC Heavyweight Title, as Ben Rothwell takes on Todd Duffee. The two veterans of the combat world were originally scheduled to fight this past December, before an illness forced Rothwell to postpone the match, which Duffee used to take a shot at his opponent, claiming he “lost to Thanksgiving”. Though both fighters are relatively new to BKFC, Rothwell having only fought twice and Duffee yet to debut, the winner of this match could very well go on to challenge whoever wins the aforementioned Terrill-Hunt bout for the Heavyweight title, with Rothwell going as far as to say Terrill is just “holding onto my belt”.
Accomplished former pro-boxer, Alfredo Angulo is set to make his BKFC debut at the event, and social media star, Bryce Hall will also appear on the card, although their opponents have yet to be determined. Angulo was at one point one of the premier boxers in the super welterweight division, having faced off against the likes of Canelo Alvarez, James Kirkland, and Kermit Cintron. Hall surprised everyone and put the Bare Knuckle world on notice by winning his first fight against Gee Perez via stoppage back in August, so expect both men to put on a great show no matter who they face.
As we hurdle towards the biggest event in BKFC, the promotion still has six shows scheduled between now and then to hold us over. The matches already announced could all turn out to be some of the best the company has ever given us, with the face of BKFC fighting a returning star, their top fighter looking to make history, and a clash between top heavyweights. With other fights still to be determined, look forward to more announcements in the coming weeks.
