A short-list of next up for BKFC’s biggest star.

“Platinum” Mike Perry (5-0, 3 KO’s) is the biggest star BKFC has to offer, and with that firepower comes a big responsibility on both him and the organization. For Perry, it’s as simple as being himself and winning fights, he seems to have that covered. For the BKFC front office, they need to find opponents for him that create enough buzz to sell the tickets and PPV’s the company has come to expect from Perry, while also putting on a competitive fight that isn't just big in terms of a name, I thought I’d do my best to help them find his next opponent, here is my shortlist for the “King of Violence” to face next.
Robbie Lawler
Maybe the most recent hat to be thrown into the ring, or I guess “squared circle”, is former UFC Welterweight champion Robbie Lawler. Coming off his movie like retirement fight in the UFC where he stopped Nico Price in just 39 seconds, his name has more or less disappeared from the combat sports scene.
Until Thursday May 23rd, when he was pictured alongside BKFC President David Feldman. With the caption “Great meeting Robbie Lawler today!”.

It's certainly possible we could see a “Ruthless” comeback. And if that were the case, you would think a name with the magnitude of the UFC Hall of Famer would have to match up with BKFC’s biggest star, Mike Perry, Right? As an added incentive these two were scheduled to fight each other in 2020, before the fight was scratched.
On a personal note, Lawler is 42 years old, can we please not do this?
Anthony Pettis
One of the biggest free agent names out there, Anthony “Showtime” Pettis has been knocking off side-quests ever since his departure from the UFC. He boxed Roy Jones Jr., started his own MMA fighting organization, and has most recently faced Benson Henderson in Karate Combat. Why not bare knuckle next? One thing we have seen is it takes star power to get a fight with Perry, and what other MMA fighter can say they were on the cover of a Wheaties box?
This would be an intriguing fight, Perry struggled with fast and accurate fighters in the past like “MVP” and Eddie Alvarez, Pettis would not be an easy fight by any stretch. I like this one, a lot more than the Lawler option.

David Mundell (BKFC Middleweight Champion)
Seemingly a match made in heaven is a bout with BKFC Middleweight champion David Mundell. These two have fought twice in the past, with Perry winning both times by KO. It’s a win-win for both sides, Mundell gets a shot at revenge, and Perry gets a chance to win a title in the promotion that has crowned him King. Oh and to boot, Perry is already named as the number one contender in the division so no one could complain that Perry is being handed a shot. Mundell has experienced a rebirth since losing the gloves just like Platinum has, lets see once and for all if Perry is the better man, or if they were just in the wrong sport.
Darren Till
Get the beep button ready if this fight gets made. Fighting like school children on social media since Covid hit in early 2020, these two are legit comedy. Till bugs Mike about being short and angry all the time, Perry goes after Till for being…British? It doesn't sound that funny on paper but a quick search on youtube will tell you all you need to know about this potential match.
Oh and yeah they can fight like nobody's business! Till has struggled with injuries that plagued the back half of his UFC career, but when he’s healthy there are few people more dangerous than him. Perry, I don’t need to explain. And the added bonus that Perry already wants the fight given his callout at KnuckleMania IV, this probably wouldn’t take much to get done.
There are plenty of free agents out there that fit the criteria of a Mike Perry main event, which one is your favourite? Leave a comment below!
