Pound for Pound fighters debate our rankings.
Recently, Bare Knuckle Nation posted its Top 10 Pound for Pound rankings on both Instagram and X. While some fighters were happy to see themselves on the list, some were less than enthused with their placement. One of those being BKFC’s 165-lb. champion Austin Trout. Ranked third, the former boxing world champion felt disrespected by being placed behind Luis Palomino, the man he beat for the welterweight title.
While résumé is commonly factored into Pound for Pound lists, Trout obviously feels differently, and given the fact that their bout at BKFC 57 wasn’t overly competitive, he may have a point. And based off Palomino’s response, “See you soon” hopefully a rematch is already in the works.
What’s most interesting is the fact that Trout claims he was pushing for the original bout to be at 155, and now claims “I’m head honcho” teasing the fact that the rematch could take place at lightweight, a division that still has a vacant title.
