“THE NEW KING OF MIAMI”: KAI STEWART

Kai Stewart has a message ahead of his title defence against Bryan Duran at BKFC 62.

On June 21st, in Hollywood Florida, USA, just miles from Miami, BKFC Featherweight champion Kai Stewart (5-0, 2 KO’s) will defend his title for the second time against Bryan Duran (6-0, 6 KO’s). Both men are undefeated with a combined 11 wins and eight knockouts. Stewart has defended his title once before at BKFC 56 against Howard Davis (6-2-1), but this time around he has another goal in mind, not only taking Duran down but taking something from him too.

“I’m going to put this guy's lights out and I’ll be the new King of Miami, because that's what they’re dubbing (Duran) down there. He’s the bare knuckle King of Miami and I’ll take that s**t from him, Miami is a fun place to go.”

In an interview with BK Nation, Stewart made it very clear why he doesn’t mind being on the road for just the second time in his career.

“I love the fact that he’s made it big enough to where I can fight him in his hometown, let him sell his tickets, and I’m going to put his lights out in front of his hometown… That's what I want. I want him facedown on the canvas in front of his home crowd.”

While Durans entire fight career has taken place inside BKFC, the champ didn’t dismiss Duran’s experience or lack thereof, but opted to compare it using a common opponent of theirs.

“He went four rounds with Louie (Lopez)... I didn’t finish Louie, but he had the best camp of his life against me… He rolled off the couch and made it a war with Bryan Duran”

Despite all the extra noise around the fight and the approaching media that will accompany it, he still has a clear vision for the bout.

“If he comes off that line, like he does, with his chin up, he’s f**ked”
