The Samurai says, “It’s not going the distance,” ahead of his fight at BYB 26.
(Full Interview)
On May 10th Tommy “The Samurai” Turner (2-1, 2 KO’s) will face Lorawnt-T “LT Smash'' Nelson (4-1-1 4 KO’s) for the vacant BYB middleweight title. This is the culmination of a long combat sports journey for Turner who started boxing as a professional in 2011. After making the career switch, The Samurai believes he has found a sport that perfectly fits his skillset. Turner has finished both his wins by first round knockout and his lone defeat also came in the first round, as he put it, “With the name like Samurai you’ve got to kill or be killed anyway.”
Across the Trigon will stand an opponent with over 40 professional combat sports bouts across bare knuckle, MMA, boxing, and kickboxing. LT Nelson is also the current BYB super middleweight champion, and is dropping in weight to compete for the vacant title. LT’s entire bare knuckle career has taken place inside the trigon, finishing all of his wins just like Turner.
While the fight is too close to call before it happens, when the bell sounds, The Samurai’s prediction is sure to ring true.
“It’s going to be fireworks and one of us is getting knocked out!”
